Black Meteors depart for Mozambique Thursday evening

The Black Meteors will depart Accra on Thursday, October 20, for their U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique.

The team will play the Mozambicans in the first leg clash on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto.

Ghana’s U-23 side, led by coach Ibrahim Tanko,  have been in camp gearing up for the past six weeks.

In a doubleheader, Ghana will play Mozambique, with the winner going on to play the winner of the match between Algeria and DR Congo.

Morocco will host the fourth edition of U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in June 2023.

Ibrahim Tanko oversaw the squad that placed fourth in the 2019 competition, which the hosts Egypt won, ensuring that Ghana would not be participating in the 2020 Olympics.
