The Black Galaxies of Ghana defeated Kenpong Academy in a friendly as the team wrapped up their preparations for the CHAN qualifiers.

Coach Annor Walker’s side inflicted a 2-1 win over Kenpong Academy at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium.

The Black Galaxies went for recess with a 2-0 lead.

Great Olympics forward Maxwell Abbey Quaye opened the scoring for the Black Galaxies before Hearts of Oak’s Suraj Seidu doubled the lead for the home-based national team.

After the break, Kenpong Academy intensified their effort and got a consolation through Sebastien Abekah.

The Black Galaxies will play Benin in the preliminary round of the CHAN qualifiers, where the winner of the tie will face Nigeria.

Ghana have failed to qualify for the CHAN tournament in the last three editions and will hope to change the narrative this time around.
