Black Galaxies beat Egypt U-20s in CHAN 2022 build-up

Ghana’s Black Galaxies registered a 2-0 victory against the U-20 team of Egypt in a behind-closed-doors match at the Cairo Stadium on Tuesday.

It is the first warm-up game for coach Annor Walker’s side since switching camp from Accra to Cairo in their preparation for the upcoming 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in Algeria next month.

Ghana made their early dominance count with striker Kofi Kordzi scoring the opener from close range in the 15th minute.

The second goal arrived in the 57th minute through Sylvester Simba who curled home from inside the box.

The Egyptians also used the friendly as part of preparations for the upcoming U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) they will be hosting from February 19 to March 11, 2023.

The Black Galaxies are expected to return to training on Wednesday. The team could face an Egyptian Premier League side in their next test match.
