Bibiani Goldstars players are set to receive a significant financial reward of $3,000 from the club’s management following their impressive 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko in Kumasi.
Despite conceding an early goal to Solomon Safo-Taylor, the miners kept their focus and persistence and were able to find an equalizer through Abednego Tetteh’s stoppage-time goal. This denied Kotoko the opportunity to secure a win in front of their home fans.
In an interview after the game, Bibiani Goldstars CEO Akwasi Adu praised his team’s performance and announced that the club will fulfill their promise of rewarding the players with a bonus of $3,000 for their efforts.
“We promised the team a huge bonus of $3,000 should they avoid defeat against Kotoko. We looked at our position on the league table and thought it wise to motivate the team to get a good result in Kumasi,” Adu said.
He went on to express his satisfaction with the team’s overall performance and credited their resilience and hard work in securing a valuable point on the road. He also singled out Abednego Tetteh for his match-winning contribution, as the striker had promised to score in Kumasi.
Bibiani Goldstars’ draw against Kotoko sees them move up to 7th place on the league standings with 42 points from 30 matches played so far.
