Ghana Premier League

Bibiani Gold Stars and Asante Kotoko will do battle at DUN’s Park on Saturday as the betPawa Premier League enters Matchday Two.

Gold Stars had a false start to the season after losing 2-0 to Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park on the opening weekend of the season.

The Miners have played 34 home games in the league since they made their debut in the 2021/22 season – they have recorded 23 wins, 6 draws and 5 losses in home games thus far.

Bibiani Gold Stars lost 3 home games in the 2021/22 season and 2 games in the 2022/23 campaign.

Asante Kotoko are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Gold Stars at the Dun’s Park following one win and one draw.

Asante Kotoko coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum who drew his first game against Heart of Lions in his second stint, expects his players to fight for their first win of the season and maintain their unbeaten run against the Miners.

The Porcupine Warriors have strengthened their squad with the likes of Henry Ansu from Berekum Chelsea, Baba Yahaya from King Faisal, Nurudeen Yussif from Real Tamale United and Kalou Ouattara of Berekum Chelsea fame.

Cameroonian forward Geoge Mfegue, Micheal Kyei Dwamena, Sherrif Mohammed, Augustine Agyapong, Richmond Lamptey, Serge Eric Zeze and Danlad Ibrahim provide a good good link between the new recruits and the experienced players.

Gold Stars have boosted their squad with Roland Frimping, Sadat Mohammed, William Dankyi Ntori and Ali Huzaif. The likes of Yahaya Adraman, Prince Kwabena Owusu, Samuel Amofa and Stephen Owusu Banahene also give coach Michael Osei options going into the encounter.

The game will be broadcast live on StarTines Adepa channel 247 at 3pm on Saturday, September 23,2023.
