Betpawa Premier league Play-offs: Tamale City beat Liberty to boost hopes of qualification

Tamale City defeated Liberty Professional 1-0 to boost their hopes of replacing AshantiGold and ultimately qualifying for next season’s Betpawa Premier League.

Liberty, who won their first match in the play-offs against Ebusua Dwarfs, came into this match hoping to get a positive result which would have secure them a spot in the top-flight.

Those hopes did not come to pass as they conceded the only goal of the contest in the 42nd minute by Tamale City’s Isaac Mensah.

The scientific soccer lads dominated the entire remaining minutes but could not find the back of the net including a penalty miss by William Oduro.

Three minutes to the end, Nana Osei thought he had levelled the score-line until the fourth official raised his flag signaling offside.

Tamale City will qualify for next season’s Premiership with a win against Ebusua Dwarfs on Monday, August 8.
