Real Madrid reached the 2022 Champions League final after a miraculous 3-1, (6-5 on aggregate) win against Manchester City on Wednesday night.
The hosts seemed on their way out of the competition after City took the lead with less than 20 minutes to go, giving them a two-goal advantage, leading 5-3 on aggregate.
However, two late Rodrygo goals turned the tie on its head, forcing extra time much to the excitement of the home fans.
Karim Benzema then scored the winning goal from the spot, his 15th of the season, in extra time to send Carlo Ancelotti’s side to the Paris final for their 17th appearance.
The 34-year-old also became just the fourth player to score in both legs of a quarter-final and semi-final tie.
He joins a list that has Edin Dzeko (2017/18, Roma), Fernando Morientes (2003/04, Monaco), and Neymar (2014/15, Barcelona).
His goal against City also saw him move level with Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski – tied third, with only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of him.
