Zapping World Eleven EXCLUDED: Édouard Mendy’s “Little Brother” interview!
We knew it on the roof of the world after the double Liga – Champions League, Karim Benzema has not finished breaking records. While an update on the market values of La Liga players was published by Transfermarktthe Frenchman has gone down in history.
With an increase of €5m, increasing his value from €25m to €30m, Karim Benzema has become the first player in history to experience such a significant revaluation at the age of 34. His 44 goals in 46 games in all competitions fully justify this record as the Real Madrid striker plays football that allows him to believe in the Ballon d’Or more than ever.
A nice rise for Rodrygo, a drop for Courtois
Among the other updates, we note the beautiful evolution of Rodrygo. The Brazilian saw his value go from 40 to 60 M€, especially after his double in the semi-finals of the Champions League. However, he remains quite far from Vinicius who retains the highest value in La Liga with 100 M€.
As surprising as it may seem, Thibaut Courtois is experiencing a devaluation. The value of the Belgian goalkeeper has gone from 65 to 60 M€. Nothing to do with his performances this time around, but that’s due to the few goalkeeper transfers on the market and the low amount of compensation for this position. He remains, however, the goalkeeper with the highest value in the world. For example, Jan Oblak and Marc-André ter-Stegen saw their value go from 60 to 45 M€ and from 45 to 30 M€.
