Black Stars coach Otto Addo has named his latest squad for the upcoming international window, with goalkeeper Benjamin Asare standing out as the only home–based player to make the list.
The Hearts of Oak shot–stopper’s inclusion highlights the growing reliance on foreign–based talent, with the squad once again dominated by players plying their trade in Europe and the United States.
Asare’s call–up comes after a string of consistent performances in the Ghana Premier League, where his leadership and reflex saves have made him a key figure for Hearts.
His presence ensures that the domestic league will at least be represented, though questions continue to be raised about the shrinking opportunities for local players in the senior national team setup.
