Premier League side Chelsea FC has received a boost ahead of the new campaign after confirming that defender Ben Chilwell had returned to first-team training.
The England international has spent a chunk of the season on the sidelines after suffering a nasty knee injury in November’s 4-0 win over Juventus and has not played since.
According to the Chelsea, the player has been keeping fit with the club’s youth side but joined the first team on Tuesday as they seek to finish the season strongly after a thrid lace finish was guaranteed.
In a video, manager Thomas Tuchel beamed as he gave Chilwell a big hug, while his teammates all gave him a round of applause as he made his long-awaited return.

The player is ahead of schedule as he was expected to sit out the first games of the upcoming season and the club doesn’t want to rush him back as he seeks to have a perfect start with the hope of being included in the England squad for the 2022 Wolrd Cup later in the year.
The return is a boost for Chelsea who is said to be on the verge of losing Marcos Alonso to Barcelona. With Captain Cesar Azpilicueta set to leave, the Blues have no option but to enter the window with the aim of getting another defender.
