Bechem United assistant coach Mallam Yahaya has assured supporters that the Hunters are fully focused on securing a third consecutive victory in the Ghana Premier League when they face Basake Holy Stars this weekend.
Bechem United appear to have turned a corner after a difficult start to the season. The club has won four of its last five matches, suffering just one defeat, a run that has helped them climb out of the relegation zone.
Back-to-back victories against Berekum Chelsea and Bibiani Gold Stars have lifted the Hunters to 11th place on the league table, easing pressure as they head into Matchday 19.
Speaking to Bechem United TV ahead of Sunday’s encounter, Mallam Yahaya admitted the task will not be easy, particularly against a Holy Stars side that has been strong at home.
“Holy Stars are a good team. They are difficult to beat at home, but we are also determined to get a good result,” he said.
The assistant coach stressed that hard work and concentration will be key if Bechem are to continue their recent resurgence.
“It’s all about hard work. In football, once you relax, you can be punished. We are focusing on working hard so that, at the end of the day, the team can get to a good place,” he added.
The Week 19 Ghana Premier League clash between Basake Holy Stars and Bechem United is scheduled for Sunday, January 18.
