Barcelona & Chelsea on alert as Robert Lewandowski confirms desire to leave Bayern Munich

It is the end of an era in Germany as Robert Lewandowski has confirmed his desire to leave FC Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski has been on Bayern’s books since 2014 when he left Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer.

During his time in Bavaria, the Polish international netted a staggering 344 goals and provided 72 assists in 374 outings.

He also helped Bayern clinch the Champions League, countless league titles and a plethora of domestic cups.

Now though, the striker has, on May 30, confirmed that he wishes to leave the club and is of the belief that Bayern will not keep him:

“My era at Bayern is over. I don’t see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore,” he said.

“Bayern’s a serious club and I believe they won’t keep me, I don’t want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don’t stop me”.

Where will Lewandowski go?

Given his obvious talent, Lewa will no doubt go somewhere that provides him with Champions League football and the ability to win trophies, ruling out Manchester United as an option.

So, with Manchester City already signing Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe staying at PSG, that leaves Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea as probable destinations.
