Barcelona have announced the permanent signing of 18-year-old Belgian winger Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge, with the teenager agreeing a contract running until 30 June 2031.
The Catalan club confirmed the move on Friday through their official website. Bisiwu is expected to be formally presented at Barcelona’s headquarters at a later date.
Bisiwu was born on 22 January 2008 into a family of Ghanaian heritage and has established a reputation as one of Belgium’s most promising young players. He is known for his pace, physical strength and ability to beat opponents in one-on-one situations.
The winger has represented Belgium regularly at youth level and attracted particular attention during the 2025 European Under-17 Championship. He helped Belgium reach the semi-finals of the tournament and was selected in its team of the competition.
His move to Barcelona represents the latest step in a career that began at Leuven, where he joined in 2014. He spent six years with the club before moving to the Club Brugge academy, which he entered in 2020.
Bisiwu has also gained experience against older players in recent seasons. He made 14 appearances in the UEFA Youth League over the past two campaigns, scoring three goals.
Since 2023, he has featured for Club NXT, Club Brugge’s reserve side, in the Belgian second tier. Despite being only 15 when he began playing for the team, Bisiwu went on to make 36 appearances for Club NXT.
Barcelona’s decision to secure the teenager on a long-term contract underlines their investment in emerging talent. The club have not disclosed financial details of the transfer.
Bisiwu becomes the third Belgian player to join Barcelona’s first team, following Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Goyvaerts.
His arrival adds another young attacking option to the club’s long-term plans, although Barcelona’s announcement focused on the signing and contract rather than outlining when he would make his senior debut. The planned presentation at the club’s headquarters will provide the next public stage of his move from Club Brugge to Barcelona.
