Bad officiating, injuries have undermined Kotoko’s progress – Nana Kwame Dankwah

Asante Kotoko deputy Supporters chief Nana Kwame Dankwah believes his outfit could have been at the top of the league table had it not being injuries and bad officiating.

The Porcupine Warriors are second on the Ghana Premier League table, with just a game to end of the first round of the campaign.

In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Nana Kwame Dankwah asserted his outfit are not on top of the league table because of bad officiating and injuries.

“I feel our performance hasn’t been bad at all considering injuries, bad officiating that hit the club but we could have than better. If things had gone the way we wanted, we would have been on top of the league now”

“We encountered some bad officiating in some of our games and that is why Franklin Akumatey has been suspended for 10 games. The season is not over, at a point, the coach improvised positions because of injuries but with the inclusion of Rashid Nortey, Mohammed Alhassan and others, I feel it will create enough competition in the team and going into the second round, I think things will change” he said.

Asante Kotoko are traveling to Dawu to face Dreams FC in matchday 17 of the domestic top-flight on Sunday.
