Athletic Bilbao forward, Inaki Williams has revealed how he was heavily praised by Ghanaians upon his arrival into the country to complete his nationality switch after the end of the season.
The striker confirmed his readiness to play for the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday after long discussion with the Ghana Football Association officials.
“The people in Ghana told me to play for Black Stars. They say I’m the best striker. They took my pictures. It is special for me because in Spain, I am very known but I didn’t know I was famous in Ghana more than Spain.” Inaki told 3sports
The 28-year-old forward also added he is ready for any pressure that comes with playing for the Black Stars.
“The pressure is part of football. I have played about 300 matches in Spain and the pressure is good for me. Going to the Black Stars of Ghana. I will enjoy the pressure because this is important for me and all my teammates.”
The Spanish-based Ghanaian is likely to make his debut for the Black Stars during the next international break when Ghana play Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in a double-header affair.
