Asante Kotoko host new boys Nsoatreman FC on Wednesday – Preview

Defending champions Asante Kotoko will host newly promoted side Nsoatreman FC in their betPawa Premier League Match Day One outstanding match at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

The match was postponed to make way for their Champions League preliminary round 1st leg qualifier against Rail Club du Kadiogo in Benin. Asante Kotoko have yet to lose a Match Day One fixture having drawn with Techiman Eleven Wonders in the 2020/21 and also winning against Dreams FC in the 2021/22 Premier League.

In the 2021/22 Premier League, Asante Kotoko managed fourteen points from a possible eighteen points from newly promoted sides. Only Real Tamale United managed to pick a point at the Baba Yara Stadium last season whiles Bibiani Gold Stars lost heavily and Accra Lions also losing at the venue.

Both sides are coming into the season with new head coaches – Seydou Zerbo leads the Porcupines while former Ghanaian International Mohammed Gargo manages the new boys Nsoatreman FC.

The League Champions have lost Ibrahim Moro, Mudasiru Salifu, Ismael Ganiyu, and their top scorer for last season Franck Mbella Etouga who has signed for Egyptian side Al Masry.

They began the season with a 1-1 draw against arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday and would fight for the points to kick start their campaign on the domestic front after exiting the Champions League.

Asante Kotoko are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games, winning three and drawing one in week 34 against Accra Lions in the last match of last season.

The match will take place at 3pm at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on on Wednesday, September 28, 2022
