Asante Kotoko fall to Kwadwo Asamoah goal at Kpando

Heart of Lions recorded a vantage result on Saturday as they pip Asante Kotoko 1-0 in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday Matchday 18 fixture at the Kpando Park.

Lions, for the first time in the season played at the Kpando Park after playing away at Sogakope and Hohoe in he first half of the season.

Godfred Kwadwo Asamoah scored the only goal of the match for Heart of Lions, sending the home fans into raptures.

Asante Kotoko pushed hard to equalize, but their efforts were thwarted when defender Nicholas Mensah was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, leaving them with 10 men.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Asante Kotoko continued to fight for the equalizer, but Heart of Lions’ defence remained solid, denying them any clear-cut opportunities.

The win takes Heart of Lions from to 18 points, while Asante Kotoko remains in 3rd place with 29 points.
