Asante Kotoko have secured the signing of Joseph Amoah from Legon Cities after rivals Hearts of Oak failed to finalise their move in time.

The versatile 21-year-old, who can play as a left-back or central midfielder, is expected to complete his medical in Kumasi today before signing a four-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors.

Amoah’s contract with Legon Cities expired on June 30, and Hearts of Oak were initially in pole position to land him.

However, delays in closing the deal opened the door for Kotoko to swoop in, quickly agreeing terms with both the player and his representatives.

Sources close to the deal say Kotoko’s urgency and clarity impressed Amoah, whose consistent performances in the Ghana Premier League have earned him a reputation as one of the most promising young talents in the country
