Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of Anderlecht midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The box to box midfielder was introduced in the second half, and put an outstanding performance in Ghana’ narrow victory.
The Black Stars secured a last minute 1-0 win from Inaki Williams’ header in their game against Madagascar on Friday.
Gyan, who had consistently advocated for Ashimeru’s inclusion in the national team, took to his twitter handle to validate his support for the player.
Ashimeru’s display changed the game in the second half, after Ghana had a poor first half at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Ghana will travel to Comoros in their second group I fixture at the Moroni Stadium on Tuesday.
