Asamoah Gyan has praised the then-Black Stars technical team for including Kevin-Prince Boateng in the team ahead of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Boateng was selected as part of the Ghana squad for the global showpiece by coach Milovan Rajevac, to fill in for the injured Michael Essien alongside defensive midfielder Anthony Annan.
The 35-year-old made an impressive impact the World Cup that saw him earn a move to AC Milan after the tournament.
“Kevin-Prince Boateng] is a great player and his addition to the Black Stars brought us something different that benefited the team,” Gyan told Asaase Radio.
“He was one of the few foreign players who actually broke into our team and forced his way into the plans of the coach; great player.”
The Hertha Berlin midfielder made 15 appearances for Ghana between 2010 and 2014, scoring two goals and represented them at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups respectively.
