Arteta eyes Man City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The versatile defender has failed to nail down a starting role in Pep Guardiola’s Man City team, and could be one of the players allowed to leave.

It turns out Arteta and company are considering a move for the 25-year-old, who could be given a midfield role, where he normally plays while on international duty with the Ukraine national team.

Zinchenko was originally signed as a central midfielder but was moved to left-back by Guardiola.

Arteta is preparing for a major shakeup ahead of the new season, with a top-class striker one of his top priorities.

Interestingly, he has also set his eyes on Man City forwards Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian has a year left on his current deal at Etihad Stadium, and City could be prepared to cash in on him.

His future may have been sealed with the recent signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal are however not the only club interested in the versatile defender-cum-midfielder, while they also face significant competition for Jesus.
