Arsenal target Tielemans throws Leicester City’s future in the air

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has thrown his future in the air after claiming that he wants to challenge for trophies.

The Belgian has strongly been linked with a move to Arsenal but while he refused to be drawn into the debate, he made it clear that his aim was to be in a team that would challenge for trophies.

Asked about his future at the King Power, Tielemans said: “No sorry. I have expressed myself on that before and there is nothing new. I don’t think this is the moment and place to discuss that.”

“Every player wants that. That is just natural when you are in the game, you want to win trophies. That is the best feeling to win trophies. Obviously, every player would say the same, definitely,” he said while on international duty with Belgium.

The 25-year-old stroked home Belgium’s opener in the 1-1 Nations League draw with Wales on Saturday night and will be hoping that the outing reminded Arsenal and his suitors about his abilities.

Tielemans has one year left on his Foxes contract and there is a growing belief that he won’t be part of the Brendan Rodgers team next season with the club ready to cash on him early enough to avoid losing him for free next summer.
