Fans of Arsenal have flooded to social media on Saturday evening, to make clear their frustrations with two key members of the club’s current setup.
Mikel Arteta’s men, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
On the back of successive defeats at the hands of Crystal Palace and Brighton, the Gunners made the trip to St. Mary’s, eyeing a much-needed return to winning ways in a Premier League meeting with Southampton.
When all was said and done, however, the woes being endured by all associated with Arsenal at present only continued to worsen.
This came as a solitary strike on the part of Jan Bednarek on the stroke of the interval proved enough to guide hosts Southampton to all three points, leaving their opponents on the day spiralling ever further towards a full-blown crisis.
Arsenal have scored just two goals from their last 73 attempts.
Forster made some excellent saves today but Arsenal really need to be more clinical.

‘This is on them’
On the back of the full-time whistle bringing a close to proceedings at St. Mary’s, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the Arsenal faithful being absolutely up in arms across social media.
The Gunners’ top-four hopes are now in genuine danger of going completely up in smoke, just weeks on from the club looking clear front-runners to pip both Tottenham and Manchester United to the post.
And, as alluded to above, many of an Arsenal persuasion are evidently of the opinion that two high-profile figures at the club should, above all others, shoulder responsibility for the situation.
The pair in question? Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar:
Defeats to Crystal Palace, Brighton and Southampton in a run-in for a top four place. A consolation goal our highlight. If there was money for Vlahovic, there was money for reinforcements. This is on Arteta & Edu.

Common knowledge but how on earth did Arteta and Edu came to the conclusion that Lacazette and Nketiah were good enough to take us to Top 4? Both are leaving on a free this summer as well. Insane.

January transfers window left us so open to any kind of injury and it has happened. Edu/Arteta gambled and they’ve fucked us hard

Arteta and Edu thought they were being really smart in January. Turns out and to nobody’s real surprise that they were just being incredibly fucking stupid.

Every man and his dog could see we left ourselves short in January. Apparently, Edu & Arteta couldn’t…

Well it was Edu and Arteta who took the risk to not reinforce the attack in January.
This is on them.

Not bringing anyone in in January was a huge mistake and has come back to bite us on the arse, naive, foolish, unprofessional and bloody embarrassing, can only blame Arteta and Edu for this.
And no I’m not Arteta out (yet), just pissed off, he needs to do better, they all do

The DAMAGE done to @Arsenal by Arteta & Edu with the Striker debacle is unforgivable. In Jan I emphasised every objective fan knew it will eventually damage our season. It’s really sad how section of the fanbase were defending & making excuses for the utter incompetence & hubris.

Summer 2021: Arsenal in dire need of a striker.
Nothing.
January 2022: Arsenal now desperate for a striker.
Nothing.
Edu & Arteta both deserve the sack when the season ends and we don’t get Top 4.— AFC Griff (@AFCGriff) April 16, 2022
