Arsenal learn asking price for Tammy Abraham

Arsenal have learned how much they would have to cough up to land Tammy Abraham this summer.

Abraham made the switch to Serie A over the summer after falling out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.

And he has since taken the Italian top-flight by storm, netting 24 times for Roma across all competitions – the most of any player in their debut season for the club:

Such fine form is bound to attract the interest of many clubs, and it is easy to see why Arsenal would want to sign him.

The north Londoners did show interest in Abraham before his switch to Italy but, of course, missed out and have since had to spend most of the 2021/22 season with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah as their striker options.

The pair have scored just six league goals between them across the term to date. Lacazette and Nketiah are also both set to become free agents this summer, leaving Arsenal with a large void to fill up top.

Tammy Abraham asking price

So, given Arsenal’s striking situation, Abraham would no doubt make a fine addition to their squad.

But how much would the Englishman set Arsenal back? Well, according to football.london, Roma have slapped an asking price of €80m on Abraham, which is likely to scare away many of his potential suitors.

€80m is the same price Chelsea can reportedly bring the striker back to Stamford Bridge for, after inserting a buy-back clause in the Englishman’s contract.

Would Arsenal be willing to splash that sort of cash on a proven Premier League striker, or should they look elsewhere?
