Foster Apetorgbor has taken a significant step in his career, joining Norwegian top-tier club Sandefjord Fotball on a five-year contract.
The 18-year-old midfielder leaves African Vikings Academy Football Club in Ghana to embark on this new adventure in the Eliteserien.
Apetorgbor, who previously played for Nsoatreman FC in the Ghana Premier League, has been training with Sandefjord Fotball this winter.
The club’s Sports Manager, Matteus Bardsen, expressed excitement about the signing, highlighting Apetorgbor’s potential and versatility on the field.
“Foster is a very exciting signing. He is a young talent who has just turned 18 and who has trained with us this winter. We are signing him for five years, so we have to be patient because he is still young, but he has a long contract and has an x-factor that is very exciting offensively”
The young Ghanaian international believes this move is a big step for his career. “I see this as a big step for me and my career and hope I can do good things for Sandefjord Fotball. I’m really looking forward to playing for Sandefjord,” Apetorgbor said.
Apetorgbor’s impressive performances in Ghana, including winning the FA Cup with Nsoatreman FC, caught the attention of several clubs.
Nsoatreman FC had reportedly placed a €1.5 million transfer price on the teenager, but he joined Sandefjord Fotball as a free agent.
Sandefjord Fotball finished fifth in the Norwegian top division last season and is looking to build on that momentum.
Apetorgbor’s energy, versatility, and potential will undoubtedly strengthen their squad as they push for a place in European competitions.
