Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare believes the title race remains wide open following his side’s hard-fought victory over Asante Kotoko SC in the Ghana Premier League.
The Black Stars shot-stopper was instrumental in the Week 22 clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, producing a series of vital saves to secure all three points.
His commanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award after a tense Super Clash encounter.
“Although we have gotten the victory today, the Ghana Premier League is not easy.
“Our goal-scoring ability has been low, but in this match, we were determined to get a win. I will continue to do my job whenever I’m in post,” he said.
Asare emphasized that consistency and determination will be decisive in the title chase.
“If you look at the league, any team in the 1–5 position can win the league. It’s all about determination on the field. Winning the league will be a great opportunity for us.
“After beating Kotoko, we have to stay aggressive in our upcoming matches to ensure we keep winning,” he added.
The victory lifts Hearts into third place with 39 points.
They now sit five points behind leaders Medeama SC as the battle for the crown intensifies.
