Bournemouth secured a comfortable 4-1 win over Leeds United in their recent Premier League clash, with Antoine Semenyo scoring his first goal for the club.
The Ghanaian international, who came on as a substitute for Kieffer Moore in the 83rd minute, found the back of the net in the dying embers of the game to mark his debut goal in the English top-flight.
Colombian international Jefferson Lerma was the star of the show for Bournemouth, scoring two goals in a space of four minutes to put his side in the lead. Lerma opened the scoring in the 20th minute before doubling the lead for the home team in the 24th minute mark.
Leeds United pulled one back through Patrick Bamford, who connected from Wilfried Gnonto’s pass in the 32nd minute, as the first half ended 2-1 in favor of Bournemouth. However, after the break, the home team stepped up their game and found the back of the net twice through Dominic Solanke and Semenyo in the 63rd and additional minute of the game, respectively.
Semenyo’s debut goal for Bournemouth would be a great confidence booster for the young Ghanaian forward who moved to the club from Bristol City in the January transfer window. The victory also moved Bournemouth up to seventh place on the Premier League table, level on points with Tottenham Hotspur, while Leeds United remained in 14th place.
