Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has revealed that disclosing the budget for the Black Stars’ recent international games would have been a distraction to the team’s preparations.

The Black Stars team played against Chad and Madagascar in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Group I.

Ghana beat Chad 5-0 and recorded a 3-0 win over Madagascar to put themselves in prime position to qualify to next year’s World Cup.

.

In an interview with Asempa FM, Adams explained that he was hesitant to release the budget prior to the matches.

“People were asking me to disclose the budget for the games, but I kept asking myself what the budget would do for the team ahead of the games?

“Sometimes, some situations, create distraction for the team, so we would weigh every situation before making a decision,” he added.
