Ghanaian footballer Andre Ayew has dismissed any thoughts of retirement, insisting he still has much to offer on the pitch despite an 18-year career.
Ayew’s journey in professional football began in 2007 when he debuted at the club level and earned his first call-up to the Black Stars under coach Claude Le Roy.
Since then, he has played for nine different clubs, showcasing his experience and versatility across Europe and beyond.
“How long do you want to stay in the game? That’s the question you need to answer for yourself,” he told BBC Africa.
“Good players around you help, and as time goes on, you get smarter. You find spaces where, maybe in the past, you wouldn’t because you can smell it.
“I love what I’m doing, and I’m not ready to stop.”
At 35, he rejoined French Ligue 1 side Le Havre in October and has since made an impact, scoring three goals in nine starts.
Despite his contributions, Le Havre currently sits 17th on the Ligue 1 table, battling to improve their league position.
