Ghana international Andre Ayew will be back in the market as a free agent when the transfer window re-opens in July.
This follows the decision of Premier League survivors Nottingham Forest to pass up the chance to extend his stay at The City Ground.
Ayew is one of 12 players that has been released by Nottingham Forest.
He is now one of six senior players – with Cafu, Jack Colback, Jordan Smith and Lyle Taylor – set to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of June. Six other academy players complete the exit list.
A short statement from Nottingham Forest Friday read: “The club would like to thank each player for their contributions during their time at The City Ground.”
Andre Ayew, 33, signed for Forest on a free transfer from UAE side Al-Sadd SC on February 2. He was limited to just 305 minutes of Premier League football from 13 appearances where he was deployed in six different positions – Left Wing – 3; Centre-Forward – 3; Right Midfield – 3; Left Midfield – 2; Second Striker – 1; and Right Wing – 1.
When his contract expires, the Ghana captain would have spent just 149 days (4 months, 29 days) as a Forest player.
Meanwhile, Ivorian international Serge Aurier has triggered an automatic one-year extension on his deal.
