The manager for RSC Anderlecht, Vincent Kompany has disclosed why it was necessary for unfit Majeed Ashimeru to be featured in the Belgian Cup final against KAA Gent.
In the second half of the clash on Monday, the manager introduced the not-fully-fit Ghanaian midfielder to help the club control the game.
Unfortunately, Majeed Ashimeru who is recovering from an injury and not fully fit aggravated his injury and had to be substituted in the 76th minute.
Speaking after the game that ended with RSC Anderlecht losing on penalties, Vincent Kompany disclosed that it was necessary to try and get Majeed Ashimeru to help the team.
“You always give a little more to play the final, justifies Kompany. We could use his profile at the end of the match. I felt that Ghent’s midfield was tiring and that we could dominate them, take control.
“Unfortunately, he felt his knee and had to give way to Kana, whose rise to the game I highlight,” the RSC Anderlecht manager said.
Today, information gathered indicates that there are good signs of Majeed Ashimeru recovering in time before the next match of his team.
