Ampem Darkoa Ladies trounce Sam Nelly FC to make Champions League final

Women’s Premier League champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies sealed their place in the final of the ongoing WAFU B Champions League qualifiers after defeating Sam Nelly FC 6-1 in the semifinal on Monday.

The Techiman lads were too hot for their opponents as they romped to a 4-0 lead in the first half.

Tracey Twum scored the opener – her first goal of the tournament – under 1 minute, before adding her second on the 11th minute mark.

Mary Amponsah beautifully connected a freekick from Nancy Amoh in the 18th minute before Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah added the 4th goal on the stroke of half time.

After recess, midfielder Nancy Amoh smashed home from the distance to beat the goalkeeper in the 66th minute to make is 5:0.

Sam Nelly fought back and pulled one back before Tracey Twum scored her third goal of the game in the 69th minute.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will meet Delta Queens of Nigeria in the final on Thursday, August 31,2023 at the  Samuel Ogbemudia Sports stadium in Benin City.
