Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku has apologised to Ghanaians for the team’s group-stage exit at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana was booted out of the tournament after picking up two points from three matches, having drawn two games and suffered one defeat.

It is the successive time the senior national team was eliminated from the first round, the first time in the country’s history.

The disappointing performance has seen the Ghana Football Association sack Head Coach Chris Hughton and the dissolution of the entire technical team.

Up next for Ghana is against Mali in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
