Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi has called on his teammates to remain focused ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations last-16 encounter with Mozambique.
The Super Eagles face the Mambas on Monday night at the Complexe Sportif de Fès, with both sides aiming for a quarterfinal spot. Despite winning all three group-stage matches and finishing top of their group, Iwobi insists Nigeria cannot afford to be complacent.
“Of course, we’ve got three wins out of three games… we cannot get complacent,” Iwobi told Ademola Victor TV.
Iwobi has been influential in the group stages, providing key assists against Tanzania and Tunisia as the Super Eagles made light work of their opponents. Looking ahead, he vowed the team would maintain their intensity.
“The same thing we showed in the group stage… give a hundred percent,” he added.
