Al Hilal have yet to receive a formal offer or enter serious negotiations with any Turkish club for Darwin Nunez, despite weeks of reports linking the Uruguay international with a move to the Turkish league.
The uncertainty has complicated Al Hilal’s efforts to reshape their foreign-player squad before the start of the new season. Head coach Simone Inzaghi does not consider Nunez a priority in his plans, prompting the club’s management to intensify its search for a suitable solution during the summer transfer window.
However, the latest developments suggest that the reported Turkish interest has not progressed beyond speculation. No club from Turkey has so far made an official approach for Nunez or opened meaningful talks with Al Hilal over a transfer.
The situation leaves the Saudi club facing a difficult problem. If Nunez remains at Al Hilal, one of the team’s foreign-player places will continue to be occupied by a player who is outside Inzaghi’s technical plans.
That could affect the club’s ability to complete further signings before the transfer window closes, as Al Hilal attempt to build a squad capable of meeting the demands of the new campaign under their Italian manager.
With no genuine offers currently on the table, Al Hilal may have to consider alternative ways of resolving the situation. The club could try to persuade Nunez to accept a new destination, or wait for interest from other teams to develop into something more concrete.
