President Nana Akufo-Addo has pledged financial support for FC Samartex as they prepare for their inaugural participation in the CAF Champions League.
The team, led by Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, visited the President to seek his “blessings and support.”
Acknowledging the significance of FC Samartex’s participation in the continental tournament, the President emphasized the importance of supporting the team’s efforts
“We will see what we can do to help. We must help, it’s a national assignment that you are undertaking, you are waving the flag of Ghana so we too have to do what we can to support you. Times are not the best as far as money is concerned. We will do our best to help.
“It’s been sometime since we had a winner on the continental tournament, perhaps you have the opportunity to be that but we must all support you.
Samatex FC will start their in CAF Champions League journey against Cameroonian champions Victoria United on August 16 in the first round of the qualifiers for the group stages.
