Ajax appoints Ten Hag’s replacement

Eredivisie Champions Ajax has moved on swiftly to replace Erik ten Hag with Alfred Schreuder.

The 49-year-old currently manages Club Brugge in Belgium and is poised to sign a two-year contract with the Amsterdam-based club according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The tactician however played down the links after being asked about the same after their game against Union.

“I don’t have an answer to this (Ajax links), I am fully involved with Club Brugge. I can’t deal with those rumors. We don’t know what will happen in the future. That Ajax is champion? I’ve heard it. Nice for them,” he said.

Schreuder was a former assistant at Ajax (2018-19) and more recently with Barcelona under Ronald Koeman while also making appearances for various Dutch clubs including Feyenoord, NAC Breda, and Vitesse as a player.
