Swedish giants AIK have completed the signing of Ghanaian winger Nana-Kofi Donkor from Georgian club FC Dila on a four-year contract.
The 19-year-old completed the move after travelling to Stockholm for a medical examination, with Sports World Ghana confirming the transfer.
Donkor’s switch to AIK represents the latest stage in a rapidly developing career for a player whose performances in Georgia have attracted attention from clubs across Europe.
He joined FC Dila in 2025 but spent the first half of the season on loan with Georgian powerhouse Dinamo Tbilisi. During that spell, Donkor emerged as one of the league’s most promising young attacking players.
The winger scored four goals and supplied one assist in 15 league appearances for Dinamo Tbilisi. His performances were built around a direct approach, considerable pace and the ability to take on and beat defenders in one-on-one situations.
Those qualities helped generate interest from several European clubs before AIK secured his signature.
The Stockholm club are expected to view Donkor as one of their main additions during the current transfer window as they strengthen their attacking options. His arrival gives AIK another young forward capable of providing speed and directness in the final third.
For Donkor, the move provides an opportunity to continue his progress in Scandinavian football after making an impression in Georgia. It also places him at a club with a major role in Swedish football, although his immediate challenge will be to establish himself in a new country and league.
The transfer continues a recent pathway for promising Ghanaian players who have developed in Scandinavia before progressing in their careers. That route has produced several successful Black Stars players in recent years.
Donkor’s four-year agreement underlines AIK’s long-term commitment to the winger, who has moved to Sweden at the age of 19 following his productive loan period with Dinamo Tbilisi.
His development at FC Dila and Dinamo Tbilisi has now earned him a move to AIK, where he is expected to become an important part of the club’s plans during the current transfer window.
