Former vice president of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie, has expressed unwavering confidence in Black Stars coach Otto Addo ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will make their fifth appearance at the global tournament, which is set to be jointly hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The team has been drawn in Group L, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia in a challenging group stage.
Addo, who guided Ghana through qualification, previously faced criticism over his experience after the 2022 World Cup.
Afriyie, however, believes the former Borussia Dortmund talent coach has matured and is ready for the pressures of football’s biggest stage.
“Otto Addo is now a mature coach, and I don’t think he will make mistakes at the World Cup,” Afriyie told Asempa FM.
“He has learned from past experiences and understands what is required at that level.”
Ghana will kick off their campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17, followed by a clash with England in Boston, and will conclude the group stage against Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
