Mohammed Kudus is set to be handed the leadership role of the Black Stars against Sudan in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Thursday evening.
The 24 year old will wear the captain’s armband in the absence of Andre Ayew and Thomas Partey.
Interestingly, th West Ham United midfielder was given the nod by coach Otto Addo ahead of some senior members of the squad including Jordan Ayew and Alexander Djiku.
Ghana will host the first leg of the doubleheader at the Accra Sports Stadium while the return leg will be played at Benina, Libya, on October 15, 2024.
The Black Stars currently sit third in qualifying Group F with only one point from two matches.
Winning both matches against Sudan is crucial for Ghana to improve their chances of qualifying for the tournament, which will be held in Morocco in 2025
