Senegal coach Pape Thiaw has reacted to Sadio Mané’s hint that the AFCON 2025 final might be his last game for the national team.
After 28 games, 11 goals and 9 assists, as well as one trophy Mane has decided this is his last AFCON campaign.
“If you are Sadio Mané there’s a nation involved. Maybe he took this decision in a rush. The nation would like to see him continue playing. If it comes to me and I have to sign I don’t think I want to see him leave. We need to keep him”
Thiaw emphasized Mané’s importance to the team, stating, “The only thing I know is that we need him, Senegal needs him”. He highlighted Mané’s influence and leadership, saying, “A player like Sadio Mané doesn’t come around often.”
