Morocco has secured a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals, defeating Cameroon 2-0 in their quarter-final clash.
Brahim Diaz opened the scoring in the 26th minute, finishing after a corner, marking his fifth goal in five games this tournament.
Ismael Saibari extended the lead in the 74th minute with a well-placed shot following a free kick.
The Atlas Lions dominated possession and created several chances, but Cameroon’s defense held firm until Diaz’s strike.
Morocco’s defensive strength was also evident, conceding only one goal in five tournament games, the best defensive record in AFCON.
Morocco will face either Nigeria or Algeria in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
This is Morocco’s first AFCON semi-final appearance since 2004.
