Super Eagles coach Éric Chelle has refused to comment on the on-pitch altercation between Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman during Nigeria’s 4-0 win over Mozambique at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“I will not tell you anything about what happened between Osimhen and Lookman. What happens between my players stays in-house and not for public consumption,” Chelle said, keeping the details of the incident under wraps.
The spat occurred in the 63rd minute when Osimhen confronted Lookman for not passing the ball to him, despite already being 3-0 up. Osimhen was later substituted, with Lookman downplaying the incident, saying “it’s just football” and describing Osimhen as his “brother.”
