Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has awarded a €30,000 bonus to each player after their qualification for the AFCON quarter-finals.
This decision was made in collaboration with the Minister of Sports, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, as a motivation for the team’s achievement.
The Indomitable Lions secured their spot in the quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over South Africa.
The bonus is part of the country’s performance-based incentives, highlighting the importance attached to success in major continental tournaments.
Each player will receive approximately 18.18 million CFA francs, a significant boost as they prepare for their quarter-final clash against Morocco.
The Cameroonian team is aiming for a sixth continental crown, and this financial reward is expected to lift their spirits.
