Afcon 2023Q: Mali referee Mahamadou Kéïta gets Ghana vs Madagascar

Malian referees, led by Mahamadou Kéïta, will officiate the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier between Ghana and Madagascar.

The Black Stars are scheduled to kick-start their campaign for a place at the flagship continental showpiece – to be hosted by neighbours Cote d’Ivoire – at home on Wednesday, June 1.

The Cape Coast Stadium will host this game with kickoff confirmed for 19:00 GMT.

Leading the officials for the match is centre referee Kéïta nicknamed “Wankiyou”, an international since 2011.

The 38-year-old will have compatriots Modibo Samake and Drissa Kamory Niare as Assistants I and II.

Another Malian referee Sory Ibrahima Keita Sory will serve as the Fourth Official.

 

Alhaji Babagana Kalli from Nigeria has been appointed match Commissioner.

The Referees’ Assessor will be Waldabert Koissouai from Chad.

Ghana’s Dr. Christiana Baah will also be the COVID-19 Officer.
