Ghana will compete in Group E as the Black Stars learned their opponents in a draw for the final phase of the qualifiers to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) to be hosted by neighbours Cote d’Ivoire.
The four-time champions endured a disastrous outing at the 2021 Afcon held in Cameroon earlier this year, bowing out of the group stage with just a point.
Ghana have a chance to return to the flagship continental competition for image redemption but must vie for one of two tickets in the group they have been placed in following Tuesday evening’s draw.
The Black Stars – top-seeded in Group E – will battle Madagascar, Angola and Central African Republic (CAR).

The qualifiers begin on May 30 with two of the group matches to be played during the international window which stretches to June 14.
Another batch of qualifiers will be played between September 19-27 before a wrap-up with the final two games in the groups cleared from March 20-28, 2023.
The Cote d’Ivoire 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) is scheduled for June 23-July 23 that year. Six venues in 5 host cities have been earmarked for the 24-team tournament.
