Bruno Cheyrou took advantage of an interview with the media of Olympique Lyonnais to give his assessment of the services of the Rhone club. The technical director of Les Gones has alerted the players to the need to do more.
Held in check by Nice at Groupama Stadium (1-1, 15th day of Ligue 1), last Friday, Olympique Lyonnais regained the international break in eighth place in the standings with 21 points, ten lengths from third Rennes. If the appointment of Laurent Blanc, after the Peter Bosz fiasco, allowed the Rhone club to return to victory after a bad series, the Gones are behind their initial ambitions. This is the observation made by their technical director, Bruno Cheyrou, interviewed by the club’s official media.
The players must “give more”
“This start to the season is insufficient. I think we had a lot of ambitions. We did what was necessary to build a quality workforce. Unfortunately, we are not yet where we would like to be and we are far from the goal. So very clearly, the results are insufficient after fifteen days”analyzes the former midfielder, recognizing nevertheless “a moose” since the arrival of the former coach of the France team. But for the 44-year-old, Olympique Lyonnais “deserves better” than current results.
Bruno #Cheyrou ?️ Banalities…
Still not understood how this guy ended up at OL. But well understood that his record and that of the staff is starting to be anything but “trivial”.

The message sent to Alexandre Lacazette’s partners is clear. “At some point, the players also have to be able to take responsibility.” Bruno Cheyrou deplores “a lack of trust” and warns: “There are some players who are perhaps a little more weakened by the current situation, by the club’s objective which is very high. But the fact of wearing this OL jersey also gives rights, duties and you absolutely have to give more than what they are currently doing because it is insufficient. To help the rebound, the winter transfer window may be one of the solutions to Lyon’s ills.
