The day after Manchester City’s spectacular victory against Real Madrid (4-3), at the Etihad Stadium, Liverpool receives Villarreal on Wednesday evening in the second semi-final first leg of the Champions League.
Second in the Premier League one point behind Manchester City, the English club wants to take an option for the final before the second leg in Spain. Fallen in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Benfica Lisbon, the Reds of Jürgen Klopp challenge a yellow submarine which has managed an exceptional course so far, with the elimination of Juventus Turin in the eighth and Bayern Munich in the quarters.
For this match, Liverpool are without Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino, injured in the foot. Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are associated in front. For their part, Villarreal are deprived of the services of Yeremy Pino and Alberto Moreno. Gerard Moreno has to withdraw due to a hamstring injury.
