Callum Hudson-Odoi was delighted to score in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw at Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
The on-loan Chelsea star registered his first goal for the German side as they held the La Liga giants in a pulsating game at the Wanda Metropolitano.
After scoring in Madrid, he said: “It was a tough match but I felt we did really well, we worked hard off the ball and took the chances when they came.
“It’s one of those [Champions League] campaigns when you look at it you think to yourself that you could have maybe conceded less goals, scored more goals and obviously won more games.
“But we just need to keep pushing forward and I think that’s what we’ve done.”
The England-born youngster remains open to represent Ghana internationally having previously played for England at senior level.
