Christian Eriksen reunited with former Tottenham teammates

Video: Christian Eriksen reunited with former Tottenham teammates

Footage stemming from the pre-match proceedings ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Brentford will no doubt bring a collective smile to the faces of fans across the globe on Saturday evening.

The footage in question centers on Spurs’ stars being reunited with none other than former teammate Christian Eriksen.

Danish international Eriksen, of course, departed north London in January of 2020, to link up with Serie A giants Inter Milan.

After the Nerazzurri were left with no choice but to terminate the 30-year-old’s contract last summer owing to Italian football’s rules regarding the use of Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators – a device which Eriksen was fitted with on the back of his frightening cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 – though, the Dane secured a return to English football, courtesy of the aforementioned Brentford.

And, on Saturday, for the first time, the beloved midfield conductor was afforded the chance to reunite with his one-time Spurs teammates.

Ahead of the action getting underway in west London, Eriksen was spotted renewing acquaintances with the likes of Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris, as on-pitch rivalries were momentarily put to one side:

The heartwarming scenes at the Brentford Community Stadium, though, did not end there.

This came as Eriksen was too granted a warm reception by the Tottenham contingent in attendance at the clash.

As the Danish international made his way towards the corner flag to take charge of a first-half Bees set-piece, he was audibly cheered and celebrated by the away section of fans, evidently overjoyed to see their one-time midfield standout thriving on the pitch once more:
